Nollywood actress turned evangelist Tonto Dikeh has spoken out following criticism that trailed a viral video showing her praying for a schoolgirl during what appeared to be a deliverance session.
The video, which circulated widely on social media, captured the actress fervently praying for the young girl who had reportedly approached her seeking help over what she described as a spiritual struggle.
However, the clip quickly sparked debate online, with some critics condemning the act and describing it as inappropriate treatment of a minor.
Reacting to the backlash in a lengthy post on her Instagram page, Dikeh said the mission she believes God has entrusted to her is too important for her to be distracted by criticism or negative comments.
According to the actress, her focus remains firmly on her faith and on serving God. She stated that she would rather endure mockery — or even risk her life — than stay silent about the calling she believes she has received.
The mother of one added that she is prepared to accept ridicule, saying she is willing to “wear mockery like perfume” and “carry reproach like a crown.”
Dikeh also expressed love for those criticising her, explaining that she does not see them as enemies.
Instead, she believes the battle she faces is spiritual, saying it is not people fighting her but forces of darkness opposing her mission.
She concluded by saying she will continue to fight her battles through prayer, adding that true strength and victory come from staying on one’s knees before God.
