Content creator King Mitchy has claimed that internet fraud, popularly known as "Yahoo," is no longer as lucrative as it used to be, urging young Nigerians involved in it to pivot toward legitimate skills instead.

According to a report by Instablog9ja, Mitchy, speaking in a video, explained that many people who still appear financially comfortable are largely living off money they made and saved in the past, rather than current earnings.

"Yahoo no dey go again. Yahoo no dey pay again," she said. "Any of your Yahoo brother or sister, send dem money. See dat your Yahoo bros where you think say, 'Ah, dis guy dem always dey pick,' na lie o! Na lie o!"

According to her, several young men who once depended on internet fraud for income are now struggling to pay rent and are actively searching for alternative sources of livelihood.

She specifically appealed to girlfriends of men involved in fraud to encourage them to learn practical skills rather than pressure them into maintaining expensive lifestyles.

"If you are a girlfriend to a Yahoo boy, encourage dat boy now to learn a skill. Encourage dat boy now to learn a skill because it's not paying again," she said.

Mitchy further advised young women against depending on men for expensive gifts and cautioned aspiring "Yahoo boys" against pursuing the path altogether.

"If you are watching my video as a young boy and you feel like, oh, as I grow up I'm going to become a Yahoo boy, don't do it, it no dey go again," she said.

She recommended alternative skills such as barbering, social media marketing, car sales and real estate promotion as viable paths to legitimate income, warning that desperation stemming from failed fraud attempts could push young people toward dangerous decisions if they don't pursue productive alternatives.
