Nigerian content creator and host Adebayo Abidemi, popularly known as Isbae U (Bae U), has reflected on the dark period of his career following a high-profile 2022 scandal involving sex-for-role allegations and leaked videos.

Speaking in a recent interview, the popular YouTube talk show host candidly shared the emotional toll the public backlash took on him, admitting that he feared his career in the entertainment industry was over.

"2022, during the scandal of 'sex for roles and leaked videos,' was a tough time for me. That was the first time I was going through something like that. I thought the end of my career had come," Isbae U recalled.

The content creator revealed that during the peak of the media storm, he reached out to fellow comedian and activist Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr. Macaroni, to seek counsel on how to survive the crisis.

"So I asked Mr. Macaroni, 'Is this the end?' Because you never know how much power people have over you until they turn their backs on you. People who were saying good things about me started saying bad things without any care for what you're going through, but all I did was focus on doing well. Getting better at my craft and being a better person," he explained.

Rather than stepping away, Isbae U channeled his energy into refining his creative work.

He subsequently launched his hit YouTube interview show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, which has since grown into one of Nigeria's most viral digital entertainment platforms, featuring high-profile guests ranging from top Afrobeats stars to political figures.
