A user on X identified as @boutmoneey12, popularly known as “MR Money,” has issued a public apology to Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold after sharing a false claim about the death of the singer’s six-year-old daughter, Deja Kosoko.

The apology was posted on Monday morning, less than 24 hours after the original post went viral and triggered strong backlash from social media users.

In his statement, the X user explained that he had seen a screenshot circulating on Facebook and mistakenly believed it was genuine. He admitted that he failed to verify the information before reposting it.

Expressing regret, he acknowledged that the post caused confusion and emotional distress.

In his apology, he wrote that he sincerely regrets sharing the false information and takes full responsibility for not confirming its authenticity before posting it. He also appealed to Adekunle Gold for forgiveness over the incident.
