The late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, has garnered support on social media from Nigerian actor, Yomi Fabiyi.

The actor took to social media to plead with people to come to the next court date for the ongoing coroner's investigation into the late singer's death.

Yomi Fabiyi uploaded a screenshot on his Instagram page along with the hashtag #JusticeForMohbad, urging people to peacefully demonstrate in front of the court.

In his post, Yomi Fabiyi emphasized the importance of nonviolent protest and unity, urging his followers to put nasty comments aside and concentrate on the goal of obtaining justice for Mohbad.

He wrote, “Let us be united in one voice to achieve this goal and get closure. IGNORE OR DELETE NEGATIVE VIBES, this is social media. Not every comment from accounts should look like authentic public perception or opinion. Some are distractions.”

In order to make their demands known, Fabiyi urged his followers to bring placards to the forthcoming coroner's inquest. If they don't get their wish, he suggested using Mohbad's murder anniversary as a reason to keep up the fight for justice.

He added, “LET’S STORM THE COURT PEACEFULLY AND ATTEND THE NEXT CORONER INQUEST AND PROTEST TO REGISTER OUR DEMANDS on this case. IF NOTHING TANGIBLE IS SEEN OR HEARD, WE FOCUS ON THE DAY OF THE ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY.”

Mohbad's family, however, has requested that all events and gatherings scheduled for the first anniversary of his passing be postponed.

A member of the family's legal team, Monisola Odumosu, released a statement on behalf of the family, expressing their preference for a period of private mourning as opposed to public gatherings that can reopen past wounds.

The statement reads, "It has come to the attention of the Aloba family that some organisations have been planning to celebrate the first anniversary of the death of our late son and singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad). The Aloba family wishes to appeal to such interest groups to suspend such ideas.”
