Nigerian singer Oluwadipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has stirred mixed reactions online after announcing his engagement to Janet Atom.

The artiste took to Instagram to share photos of his fiancée and moments from their engagement ceremony, revealing that his long-awaited prayer for a life partner was answered unexpectedly on March 30, 2024, at exactly 2:48 a.m.

Spyro disclosed that he met Janet while she was working at a club, a chance encounter that, according to him, transformed his life.

He expressed joy over their journey together, confirming that she accepted his proposal and describing himself as “a very happy man.”

The announcement, however, sparked mixed reactions among fans. While many congratulated the couple, some questioned his choice, with one woman commenting that “sisters are in church praying” while men are finding love in other places.

A few men even joked about exploring different venues in search of romance.

The engagement comes shortly after a viral clip of Spyro kissing a woman passionately in public surfaced online, an incident that drew criticism from some followers who felt it clashed with his image as a self-professed “Jesus boy.”

The news also follows past reports of his admiration for reality star Nengi, during which he once joked about fasting over her.
