“Fourteen years ago, this girl sat for an interview right after Big Brother Africa.
Today I sat with that magazine again.
“A cup of tea in my hand, reading her words, her dreams, her confidence… and laughing at some of the things she said. But you know what touched me the most? She believed. She believed she would build a strong career in Africa.
She believed life would teach her. She believed she would survive whatever came her way. and somehow… through grace, growth, mistakes, prayers, and persistence… we did.
“Not perfectly. Not exactly the way she imagined. But beautifully in our own way.
To the younger me, thank you for your courage. To the woman I am today, thank you for not giving up. Growth is a quiet miracle. Sometimes you don’t see it until you look back. Cheers to the Woman I am becoming and to every woman growing through her own journey this WOMEN’S MONTH.
“And thank you, Adaeze Ibechukwu, for capturing that moment so beautifully. Reading it brought back so much nostalgia. I remember every single detail of that day. Dear 2013 Beverly … We are doing Good”.
