Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, has stated that his foremost focus at the moment is to spread the gospel and win souls for Jesus Christ.

Obi Cubana made the declaration in a Facebook post on Sunday, coming days after he faced criticism over his recent association with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The controversy followed his appointment by the City Boy Movement—a political group campaigning for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election—as its South-East Coordinator.

The development sparked backlash online, with several social media users faulting the billionaire hotelier for aligning with the ruling party, which they blamed for Nigeria’s current economic challenges.

Reacting indirectly to the criticism, Obi Cubana emphasized that his attention is firmly on spiritual matters. According to him, “the most important assignment now is winning souls for Christ.”

He also expressed gratitude for what he described as a fruitful and blessed week, adding that he enjoyed an uplifting time in God’s presence.

It will be recalled that Obi Cubana recently publicly declared his faith after the founder of Streams of Joy International, Pastor Jerry Eze, led him to Christ.
