Some Nigerians have lamented about the dilapidated state of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

A video that has emerged online showed the Stadium in a very terrible condition which re-echoes the poor maintenance culture in Nigeria.

The 24,325-capacity stadium which sits directly opposite the Lagos National Stadium has been left to rot by authorities.

Very little or nothing has been done by the Federal government after all the noise and buzz around renovating major stadiums in the country.

Reacting to the video on social media, @Akuaowei Perez on Instagram said, “Never as long as it's in this country #NIGERIA”

_@Tobby Can ???????? ???????? wrote, “I'm not surprised at all smh”

_Another user @Nnebemchukwu, asked “I thought the owner of Baba Ijebu was renovating the stadium?”

_@Danielpraizs added a simple, “Hmmm????????????????????????????”

The venue which was named after former Nigerian footballer and coach Teslim Balogun once served as the venue for the FA Cup final.

The multi-purpose stadium also hosted some matches during the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup hosted by Nigeria.
