Banji Akintoye, a vocal supporter of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, is not wanted in Nigeria.

His spokesman, Maxwell Adeleye made the clarification in a statement on Wednesday.

Adeleye described the Professor as a man of the people who stands for peaceful agitation.

“He fear no arrest, even if the Nigerian Government have such a plan. It is not true that the renowned Historian has been declared wanted”, he noted.

Akintoye is one of the leaders of the Nigerian Indigenous National Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS).

The body has announced a “One Million March” at the United Nations headquarters in New York, to seek referendum on self-determination and abolition of Nigeria’s 1999 constitution.

On Sunday, Akintoye confirmed he’s with Sunday Igboho in Benin Republic.

He denied leaving Nigeria to escape federal government’s alleged plot to arrest him.

The Senate member in the Second Republic insists he and Igboho committed no offense against Nigeria to warrant arrest and detention.

The statesman vowed to return to the country as soon as Ighoho is released by the Beninise government.
