Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has reacted to singer Davido's call for U.S. President Donald Trump to pay attention to Osun State governorship election.

MyNigeria reported that Davido begged Trump to pay attention to Osun State, where his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is getting set for re-election on Saturday.

In a social media post, Davido stated that there are growing concerns about tension and the possibility of violence, intimidation, or disruption of the democratic process.

He said Osun people deserve to exercise their constitutional right to vote freely, peacefully, and without fear.

"I appeal to the United States and the international community to pay close attention to the election and encourage all relevant authorities to ensure that every voter is protected and every vote is respected.

"We do not want bloodshed. We do not want intimidation. We want peace, transparency, and a free and fair election," he said.

Reacting, Senator Shehu Sani stated that Trump's concern is about the war between his country and Iran, which has seen chaos at the Straight of Hormuz.

He shared on X, "Those who are trying to drag Mr Trump into our elections are just wasting their time. Trump is not Obama or Biden. He has least interest in the credibility or otherwise of elections in Africa. The elections in Tanzania, Uganda and Cameroon are case studies. Mr Trump’s hands are full with Strait of Hormuz, Gaza and Ukraine; And most importantly, his party is battling to survive the upcoming Senate and House of Representatives elections."
