Traffic slowed around Gusau’s Freedom Square on Monday as hundreds of young people gathered to protest in the Zamfara State capital.
The crowd assembled at the junction, a central point connecting several major roads across the city. Footage obtained exclusively by LEADERSHIP showed some participants wearing white shirts bearing the words “TINUBU MUST GO” as they sang in support of the demonstration.
The gathering disrupted movement through the area, with cars, motorcycles and commercial tricycles navigating slowly past the protesters. Women in colourful hijabs stood along the roadside, while groups of men moved through the streets, including some travelling by motorcycle.
A vehicle equipped with a public-address system was positioned within the crowd. A cameraman stood on its roof to film the event.
Organizers had not publicly explained the protest’s purpose by the time this report was filed. Security officials had also made no statement on the gathering.
Freedom Square, renamed by the current administration, has become a regular venue for political activity and demonstrations in Gusau.
