Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted he would be open to returning to the club amid calls for Michael Carrick to be sacked.
Carrick has come under intense pressure following the Red Devils’ poor form this season.
The Red Devils have managed just seven points from nine matches in the Premier League this season and currently sit 17th in the table.
United’s latest defeat came in a 2-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Sharing his thoughts on Manchester United’s struggles, Solskjaer, who managed the club from December 2018 to November 2021, disclosed that he still has unfinished business at Old Trafford.
“Of course it would have been nice to have the opportunity again,” Solskjaer said.
The Norwegian, however, backed Carrick to turn the club’s fortunes around.
“Michael has what it takes to take that club forward. I think he’s the right man. He understands the club, understands the fans and knows what’s needed,” Solskjaer said.
