Former Nigeria coach José Peseiro confirmed earlier this month that his time with the Super Eagles has come to an end after he thanked all Nigerians for the love and support in a post via his official X handle.

Despite guiding the Super Eagles to a second-place finish in the last African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Portuguese gaffer failed to reach an agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over a possible contract extension after his deal expired in February.

According to widespread reports, the NFF is set to appoint a new head coach next month as some local and foreign coaches have submitted their applications to the country's football governing body.

Peseiro has reportedly been linked with many coaching jobs after he officially parted ways with the Nigeria national team.

Mynigeria Sports examines some of the potential destinations of the former Sporting Lisbon manager.

Kaizer Chiefs

As per reports, José Peseiro has shown interest in becoming the new manager of PSL side Kaizer Chiefs.

Current Chiefs boss, Cavin Johnson is expected to step down from his coaching role next season, adding to speculation that the 63-year-old could be the next manager of the South African club.

Cameroon

According to a report by OwnGoalNigeria, the former assistant manager of Real Madrid is currently in discussions with the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) regarding the potential replacement of former coach Rigobert Song.

The report indicates that Coach Peseiro is expected to negotiate a salary of $100,000. This news of the manager engaging in contract talks with the Cameroon FA comes after Peseiro himself confirmed to Sports Italia that he won't rescind his decision to quit the Super Eagles job.

Zamalek SC

After impressing at the African Cup of Nations by guiding Nigeria to its first final in over a decade, Jose Peseiro's performance has attracted interest from Egyptian giants Zamalek as per Soccernet.ng.

The report further adds that both Zamalek and the Algerian national team are eager to secure the services of the former coach of Venezuela.

In the interim, the NFF has appointed Enyimba coach to be in charge of the team in their friendlies against Ghana and Mali.

The Super Eagles beat archrivals Black Stars of Ghana 2-1 in their first friendly at the Stade de Grande in Marrakech, Morocco last Friday.

The three-time African Champions will take on Mali at the same venue on Tuesday, March 26.
