Veteran Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that she could have amassed billionaire-level wealth through political connections but deliberately turned it down to avoid compromising her principles.

The award-winning actress made the disclosure while reflecting on her financial ambitions and the values that have guided her career, explaining that she has, on several occasions, been presented with lucrative opportunities tied to politics that could have made her extremely wealthy.

According to Omotola, walking away from such deals was never about the money being wrong or illegal, but about protecting her personal beliefs and everything she represents.

"I tell people that if I wanted to be a billionaire, I could have been one easily. I've been offered that opportunity through politics, but I chose not to take it because it would compromise my principles," she said.

The actress noted that some of the people who made those offers still watch her career today, adding that remaining true to her values has mattered more to her than the wealth she gave up in the process.
