A resurfaced clip of Nollywood actor Jim Iyke on his strict boundaries when it comes to accepting film roles has been making waves on social media.
In the viral video from the interview, Jim Iyke revealed that he once pursued a producer with a weapon after being offered a script that required him to cross-dress and act in a gay scene.
The veteran actor had come on Pulse Ghana, where he was asked about the specific roles he would firmly reject throughout his acting career.
Iyke made it clear that despite respecting personal choices within the LGBTQ+ community, he would never portray gay characters or wear traditional female attire on screen.
"I can't do gay scenes guys. I'm sorry. I can't wear skirt for nobody man. I'm sorry. I know there's a whole community out there. I know, I salute you guys, but to each his own," he said.
The actor went on to share a bizarre encounter with a producer who sent him a script featuring a role reversal concept that left him furious.
According to Iyke, the storyline required him to wear a wedding dress while his female co-star wore a suit.
"The last producer that sent me a script with a gay scene along, I located that guy with a machete. Immediately he saw me, he took off. I said ‘keep running.’
"The story has nothing to do with it, but just the thumbnail says the woman is going to wear a suit and I was going to wear a wedding gown. It was a wrap. It doesn't make any sense," he said.
