UEFA Champions League title holders Manchester City began their title defence campaign with a 3-1 win over Red Star Belgrade at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

Ghanaian international Osman Bukari gave the visitors a shocking lead on the stroke of halftime, but Pep Guardiola's side bounced back in the second half with a brace from Julian Alvarez and Rodri.

In France, Paris Saint Germain put two goals past Borussia Dortmund at the Parc de Princes, courtesy of goals from Kylian Mbappe and Achraf Hakimi.

Elsewhere in Spain, La Liga title holders, Barcelona kicked off this season's campaign on a blistering note with a 5-0 thumping of debutant Royal Antwerp at the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys.

FC Porto were also 3-1 winners over Shakhtar Donetsk.
