The race for the signature of Lorient's in-form striker Terem Moffi is getting keener as the deadline for the January transfer windows beckons.

According to media reports from France, the chase for the signature of the 23-year-old Nigerian has aggravated into a tug-of-war between two club Presidents.

Marseille president, Pablo Longoria, and Nice sporting director, Florent Ghisolfi, have taken centre stage in their bid to lure the Super Eagle to their clubs.

According to Ryan Taylor who is attached to the Daily Express, Marseille's President visited the Nigerian international in Brittany on Tuesday to convince him to pen a deal with the club.

He added that OGC Nice's Sporting Director has also had a face-to-face interaction with Moffi in his bid to seal a deal.

“More detail on the crazy Terem Moffi saga. Marseille president Pablo Longoria was in Brittany on Tuesday (since left) to try & convince the Nigerian striker to sign. Also understand Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has flown to Lorient for face-to-face talks to try close deal.” he wrote on Twitter.

Premier League side West Ham United have also shown keen interest in the services of the high-flying Nigerian striker after the club submitted a £20m bid plus £5m in add-ons.

But the Daily Express reports that the 23-year-old would prefer a move to Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice to the London Stadium.

Moffi has netted 12 goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances for Les Merlus.

He is second on the top scorer's chart in League 1 only behind Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe with 13 goals.
