Chelsea boss, Graham Potter has confirmed the club's new penalty taker after Jorginho left the club.

The Brazilian-Italian midfielder swapped the Blues for rivals, Arsenal during the January transfer window in a £12 million deal.

Jorginho, who spent almost five years at Stamford Bridge, had been Chelsea's official penalty taker.

According to The Mirror, 93 percent of the 31-year-old's goals in a blue shirt came from the penalty spot, having converted 27 of the 31 kicks he took for the west Londoners.

Jorginho's Stamford Bridge departure left Chelsea without an official penalty taker.

However, Potter has now ended the uncertainty on who would take his side's penalties going forward.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's crunch Champions League knockout clash against Borussia Dortmund, the English tactician announced Kai Havertz would be taking penalties for the club.

"The players are always practicing penalties. We are prepared for the eventuality and possibility [of a penalty shootout]," Potter said via Mirror UK. "We want to win it before that but if not, then we will be prepared to go through in that way. Kai is our penalty taker in the absence of Jorginho," he added.

Havertz will be hoping the new role will reignite his Stamford Bridge career, having failed to live up to his billing so far. The German star has managed just 29 goals for the Blues in 125 appearances across competitions.
