Former Nigeria international Abiodun Obafemi has hailed Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Atalanta's Ademola Lookman for their prolific goal-scoring form in Italy.

The duo continues to raise the flag of the country high in Europe with their remarkable performances for their respective clubs in Serie A.

Osimhen hit a brace to help the Naples-based side move 9 points clear at the top of Serie A as they walloped Juventus 5-1 last Friday.

The Nigerian international also moved his Serie A goal tally to 12 goals, 3 more than Lookman, Martinez and Nzola.

The 24-year-old is in the form of his life for Luciano Spalletti's side who are on course to winning their first Scudetto since 1990.

Lookman on the other end also scored twice and assisted another as Gian Piero Gasperini's side recorded a historic win at the Gewiss Stadium.

The Super Eagles forward has been Atalanta's best player this season since joining the club last summer.

The ex-Leicester City man has managed 9 goals and 3 assists in his debut Serie A season.

Osimhen and Lookman's performance has drawn praise from Nigerians both home and abroad, and the former defender who was capped two times for the Super Eagles is the latest to sing praises to the duo.

“(Victor) Osimhen is the hottest striker in Europe, and by extension in the world. He’s doing so well now, and I believe he hasn’t reached his full potential.

“Lookman has also surpassed expectations. There are so many of them doing good at the moment. Long may it continue,” Obafemi a member of the U-23 Olympics team told to Brila FM.
