Two weeks sit-at-home order fails to hold in Imo

The two weeks sit-at-home order declared by the Finland-based Biafra agitator and separatist, Simon Ekpa failed to hold on Tuesday in Imo State as residents refused to comply with the order.

Meanwhile, most markets and businesses visited by NIGERIAN TRIBUNE are fully open for business without any harassment.

Residents of Owerri, the state capital and the 27 Local Government Areas of Imo State have been going about their normal business devoid of any intimidation while traders, shop owners, commercial bus drivers, and other motorists are also busy conveying numerous passengers from one destination to another.

There are both commercial and social activities in the state as motor parks, hotels, commercial Institutions, and eatery joints including all roads were busy and open for business unhindered.

The public and civil servants in the state are not left out as they reported to their duty post discharging their responsibilities diligently.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Police and other security agencies in the state intensified the deployment of personnel at strategic positions and checkpoints in the state to contain any form of insecurity.

It could be recalled that Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has earlier charged the people of the state to secure their domain and not to obey sits-at-home orders in the state.
