A joint intelligence-led operation involving the Nigerian military, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force, and allied security agencies has successfully rescued 20 prospective National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members and one civilian abducted in Imo State.
The victims were intercepted and kidnapped by armed gunmen while traveling through the state, triggering a coordinated search-and-rescue mission across suspected hideouts in the area.
According to a report by vanguardngr.com, security sources confirmed that all 21 rescued individuals are currently receiving medical evaluation and care at a DSS facility.
Meanwhile, joint security forces maintain an active presence in the area to investigate the full circumstances surrounding the ambush and track down the fleeing perpetrators.
