Dino Melaye plans to start marine cruise if elected Kogi governor, see other promises

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial candidate in Kogi State, Senator Dino Melaye says he plans to introduce a marine cruise in Kogi State should be win the November 11 governorship election.

Dino who won the PDP primaries in the state over the weekend noted that the state has 56 untapped resources.

A leading member of the PDP, Dino also boasted that the state is the only state in the country that is a gateway to 12 others states across the country, as he highlighted its importance.

He made this known in an interview on Arise TV.

He said: "Kogi State is the only state that is a gateway to 12 states in this country and our proximity to the Federal Capital Territory is a major plus for us. As I speak to you, I have brought it some Ukrainians and Hungarians to have done research work in the state. And I have a template already, there are 56 untapped mineral resources beneath the earth in the state and only one has been tapped."

"In terms of commerce and hospitality - if you go to Dubai, you do the marine cruise and pay 500 dirhams, the longest marine cruise you have is the one in Miami which is two hours plus."

"Lokoja to Onitsha is 8 hours cruise on the Atlantic and I am going to bring that to Kogi State."

Dino Melaye scored 313 votes to defeat his closest rival, Idoko Ilonah, who had 124 votes.

Meanwhile, Dino celebrated the results by dedicating it to God.

He wrote, “Only God could have done this.

“To God alone be the glory. Result of Kogi State PDP Governorship primary election.”
