Speaking at a press conference to update the country on the process so far. Prof. Mahmood said that INEC has experienced a relatively smooth process so far.

He however stated that there have been pockets of incidences where some of their officials have encountered some challenges, as well as issues with the BVAS machines in some parts of the country.

"This is the first time since 2011 that a general elections has not been postponed in the spirit of the Chairman of the Electoral Commission to do what is right.

"So far, so good. Generally speaking, voting is going on well nationwide. The BVAS deployed nationwide for the first time has been functioning optimally in most parts of the country," he stated.
