NCDC to publish testing numbers by state

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has promised to release testing figures state by state.

This was made public by the Director-General of the health agency, Chikwe Ihekweazu.

"We would publish the numbers of tests per state. You will see that there are many states that don't have a lab but have tested an incredible number of people," he said.

The NCDC DG revealed that they have two biomedical engineers in the past 6 months. However, maintaining medical equipment has been a huge challenge for them.

"Maintaining medical equipment is our challenge. They are expensive and they breakdown. there is no magic bullet you keep pushing. They have to be checked and accredited every single year. The people certifying have to be certified," he explained.
