‘I’m lost without you’ – Wizkid gets emotional during mother’s funeral

On social media, A video of Nigerian Grammy Award-winning singer Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun better know as Wizkid breaking down while attending his mother's burial on Thursday, October 12 has gone viral.

Recall that Jane Dolapo Balogun, the singer's mother, passed away on August 18, 2023.

In an e-flier posted on social media on Sunday, the family had previously announced her burial plans and funeral rituals.

It stated that a wake and tribute would be held in her honour on October 12 and that the funeral would follow on October 13.

The family members had the chance to pay their final respects to the deceased at the wake and tribute service in Lagos.

Wizkid expressed in an emotional voice how much he will miss his mother when he was given the microphone to speak.

He said: “I’m lost without you, Mom. I love you so much. I love you.”
