Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has sparked debate across the music industry after claiming that several artistes turn to voodoo to secure hit songs.

Speaking during an episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, the "Declan Rice" crooner opened up about the intense pressures musicians face to deliver commercially successful tracks, noting that crafting a breakout song is an elusive feat that eludes many performers throughout their careers.

According to the rapper, the desperation to remain relevant drives some creators to seek supernatural shortcuts, often leading to mental breakdown or career collapse when success proves unsustainable.

"Getting a hit song is not easy. Sometimes people even do jazz to get one. That is why you see some artists crashing out when they struggle to get a hit," Odumodublvck stated.

Highlighting the rare exception to this struggle, Odumodublvck paid tribute to Afrobeats titans Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido, commending their ability to dominate charts continuously for over a decade while others struggle to score even a single hit.

"Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido have been dropping hit songs consistently for years. You have to respect that. Some artistes never get a hit song throughout their careers," he added.
