Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson and her husband, Prince Odi Okojie, have shown that a single decision can completely change another person's life, after building and handing over a brand-new home to an elderly woman and her son.

Prince Odi shared the touching story on social media, revealing that he and Mercy had come across a video showing the elderly woman and her son living in a structure that was barely fit for habitation.

The situation reportedly struck a chord with Mercy, who insisted they couldn't simply watch the video and move on. The couple then began working on providing the pair with a decent place to live.

About three weeks after the initial post, the project was completed.

Sharing photos of the newly built house, Prince Odi expressed his joy at the transformation, writing: "A NEW HOME, A NEW BEGINNING. Tomorrow, Sunday, 4th October, we shall officially commission and hand over this new home to them. God bless you."

He described the project as a journey from tears to smiles, noting that the woman could now proudly call the house her own, and congratulated her as the "newest landlady in town," while giving God the glory for making the project possible.

The gesture is not the first of its kind for the couple. In June 2022, they built and handed over a new house to Elder Francis Uhioh, a septuagenarian in Amando Quarters, Amendokhian, Uromi fulfilling a promise Prince Odi had made to him.

The latest act of kindness has since drawn widespread praise online, with many commending the couple for using their resources to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
