Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has weighed in on the latest crisis involving former P-Square member Peter Okoye and his family, saying artistes often become destructive after carrying emotional burdens for too long.

In a lengthy post shared on social media, Cynthia said she was speaking from personal experience as an artiste and explained that musicians are often conditioned to put their careers ahead of their emotions.

“As an artiste, most of us are conditioned to always put our craft over anything. Love, grief, abuse, pressure etc.”

She suggested that what the public may perceive as destructive behaviour from an artiste could be the result of years of suppressing emotions.

“When you see an artiste that you think has become destructive, just know they've maxed out and can no longer pretend,” she wrote, adding that such artistes need to vent or seek therapy.

Morgan further noted that artistes make significant sacrifices to become the public figures their fans admire, while older artistes may have built their brands around mystery.

Addressing Peter directly, she ended her post with a message of goodwill.

“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted. Peter, I wish you peace and salvation,” she wrote.

Cynthia's comments come amid a fresh escalation in the long-running P-Square family dispute involving Peter, his twin brother Paul Okoye (Rudeboy) and their elder brother and former manager Jude Okoye.

Peter has recently released a series of videos detailing his version of the dispute, including allegations concerning P-Square royalties, the management of the group's business interests and an Atlanta property.

Jude has rejected Peter's allegations and maintained that several of the issues raised have already been addressed in court.
