Popular Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido has taken a swipe at former presidential aide Reno Omokri following comments he made regarding his delayed resumption of duties as Nigeria's ambassador to Mexico.
Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television's Politics Today, Omokri addressed reports surrounding his failure to assume office in Mexico. He dismissed claims that Mexican authorities had rejected him, insisting that such narratives were being pushed by political opponents.
According to Omokri, his delayed resumption was largely due to the ongoing FIFA World Cup being jointly hosted by the United States and Mexico, adding that the circumstances surrounding the tournament had contributed to the situation.
Reacting to the interview, Davido appeared to mock Omokri in a post shared on his Instagram Story.
The singer referred to Omokri as a "dog and fowl," writing:
