Mr. Obasi, the former spouse of Nollywood actress Judy Austin, has shared more details about their past relationship, claiming he played a major role in her educational journey and early personal growth before she rose to prominence.

During a recent appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Obasi recalled meeting Judy Austin during their younger years and deciding to build a life with her despite the financial difficulties her family was reportedly facing at the time

He alleged that he provided various forms of support throughout their relationship, including buying her first mobile phone and covering important academic expenses. According to him, he paid for examination fees such as WAEC, NECO, and JAMB, which he believes contributed to her educational advancement.

Obasi’s comments come amid the ongoing public dispute involving himself, Judy Austin, and Nollywood actor Yul Edochie. In recent months, he has continued to speak about his former marriage, maintaining that he made several sacrifices to help Judy achieve stability and progress before their relationship eventually came to an end.

He said …

“I chose Judy Austin when I was 27 years old. She was a fine girl from but that time their pocket no fine. Based on family background, they were wretched. The very first phone that she used, I was the one who bought it for her. During that time, she told me that the most problem she was facing was WAEC and NECO. I paid for her WAEC, NECO and JAMB…”

However, Judy Austin has consistently denied claims that she was romantically involved with actor Yul Edochie while still married to Mr. Obasi. The actress has maintained that her relationship with Yul began years after the end of her first marriage. Despite the conflicting narratives, the allegations and counterclaims remain a subject of public debate, with no independent verification available to confirm either account.
