Popular social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has reacted to the protest led by Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi at the National Assembly.
The protest, which took place on Monday, February 9, was aimed at calling for electoral reforms ahead of the 2027 general elections, including the proper transmission of election results. However, VeryDarkMan said he has no interest in getting involved in the matter.
In a video shared online, VeryDarkMan described the call for electoral reform as a waste of time, saying the process is already “dead on arrival.”
He argued that social media activists and young people should not be at the forefront of such movements.
According to him, politicians who actually contest elections, such as Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and Nasir El-Rufai, should be the ones leading the push for reform, while youths should only play a supporting role.
“I can’t waste my time on electoral reform,” he said.
“It’s the politicians who want to contest elections that should fight for it. Young people are supposed to support them from behind.”
