A rare video has surfaced showing one of the snakes allegedly responsible for the death of fast-rising Nigerian singer Ifunanya Nwangene, popularly known as Nanyah.

In the footage, a man is seen carefully carrying a live cobra in a compound filled with neighbours and residents mourning the late singer. Reports indicate that two snakes were found in Nanyah’s room on the morning of the incident.

Nanyah tragically passed away on Saturday morning after being bitten by a snake at her home in Abuja.

Her brother, Kingsley Nwangene, had earlier recounted the harrowing events leading to her death.

According to Kingsley, Nanyah contacted him around 8:30 a.m., informing him of the bite while on her way to a hospital. She had tied her hand to slow the spread of venom and proceeded alone to Divine Health Hospital in Lugbe, Abuja, only to be told the facility did not have anti-venom. She then made her way to the Federal Medical Centre, where she was admitted into the emergency department.

Kingsley revealed that hospital staff initially questioned her before administering anti-venom. Shortly after, Nanyah became dizzy and her speech slurred. Despite the presence of family members, including her uncle, she could not be saved.
