'No time to keep quiet' - Spyro sends message to Nigerian celebrities amid invasion threats by Trump

Nigerian singer and songwriter Spyro has issued a heartfelt call to action, urging public figures across the nation to use their voices and platforms during what he describes as a critical turning point in Nigeria’s history.

His statement followed reports that U.S. President Donald Trump officially designated Nigeria as a “country of particular concern” over alleged attacks on Christians by Islamist groups.

Taking to his Instagram page, the “Who’s Your Guy” hitmaker expressed deep concern about the growing tension and fear among Nigerians, warning that silence from those in influential positions could worsen the situation.

“This is a very critical moment in this country, and it’s not a time for anyone with a platform to keep quiet. WAR in a country threatens everyone,” Spyro wrote.

He called on celebrities, religious leaders, business executives, and content creators to unite in speaking out and demanding accountability from the government, stressing that crises spare no one, regardless of fame or wealth.

Spyro also reminded his colleagues that influence only matters when society remains stable, noting that the entertainment industry and cultural space can only thrive in peace.

“No one is coming to save us; they are only coming to kill, steal, and destroy. Remember, war takes the people, and without the people, there is no platform or influence,” he cautioned.
