Nollywood actor Shawn Faqua and event planner Sharon Ifunanya Maduekwe have made headlines after exchanging vows aboard a moving Lagos–Ibadan train, marking Nigeria’s first-ever wedding held on a train.
The lovebirds turned the train coaches into a breathtaking wedding venue, beautifully decorated with flowers, bridesmaids, groomsmen, and officiating ministers, all while the train glided along the tracks.
Celebrating the milestone, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) shared a heartwarming message, applauding the couple’s creativity and adventurous spirit.
“From lovebirds to locomotives, we’re keeping things on track. History made, the first-ever wedding on a moving train in Nigeria. Proof that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination.”
Videos and photos from the ceremony have since gone viral, sparking admiration and praise from Nigerians across social media for the couple’s originality and boldness in redefining what a dream wedding could look like.
The intimate celebration was graced by close family, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry — a perfect blend of love, creativity, and motion.
