Controversial Nigerian cleric, Pastor Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has sparked fresh debate on social media after making a scathing remark about President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other Nigerian leaders.

In a fiery statement, Odumeje questioned the legitimacy of calling Tinubu a president, insisting that the Nigerian leader is merely "a businessman" rather than a true national leader.

“I don’t know who’s calling Tinubu president. Tinubu is just a businessman. If you want to talk about a president, call Trump, Ibrahim Traoré, Putin, Xi Jinping, and many others — they are all true leaders. Leaders are people who develop their country so that their children and citizens can benefit, but the ones we have in Nigeria are busy acquiring wealth for their own children,” Odumeje said.

He went further to describe Nigeria as a “giant of failure”, rejecting the popular tag of “Giant of Africa.”

His comments have since triggered widespread reactions. While some Nigerians praised him for boldly speaking the minds of frustrated citizens, others accused the cleric of using sensational remarks to chase clout.
