An old video of the late Arise TV news anchor Sommie Maduagwu has surfaced online following her tragic death.

Just hours ago, news broke that Sommie Maduagwu was killed by armed robbers who invaded her home.

In the viral recording, Sommie is being interviewed during her reign as a beauty queen. She revealed that she travelled to London ("japa") after her NYSC for better opportunities, but despite the money she was earning abroad, she still felt unfulfilled.

The late ex-beauty queen also shared that she is the first daughter in her family, hailing from Anambra state, and expressed her interest in politics.

She stated that being the first daughter left her with a sense of responsibility, but she was passionate about making a difference in Nigeria.

During the interview, the show’s anchor commented on her beauty, and Sommie Maduagwu responded by addressing the misconception that one could not be both beautiful and intelligent while being passionate about important causes.
