Controversial Nigerian singer Portable made headlines after a notable appearance at the lavish 50th birthday celebration of celebrity fashion designer Seyi Vodi in Abuja.

According to Legit.ng, the event drew a host of prominent figures from the entertainment and fashion industries. A trending video from the occasion shows the moment Portable met Nigerian music legend 2Baba for the first time. Clearly thrilled, the Zazu crooner greeted him warmly, referring to the veteran as his “Daddy” while shaking his hand and smiling for the camera.

In another clip from the same event, Portable paid his respects to award-winning actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele. He approached her respectfully, bowing slightly as he greeted her, and she responded with a cheerful demeanor.

The singer, who recently had an online spat with activist Verydarkman, also drew attention with his flamboyant display of cash. Seen with multiple bundles of mostly ₦500 notes, Portable laid them on a table and held them up dramatically while speaking to the camera.

He also performed an impromptu song in praise of the celebrant, Seyi Vodi, noting he was fully dressed in the designer’s outfits including his shoes and cap. Lifting his leg, he even pointed out the brand’s logo on his footwear.

Speaking with admiration, Portable described Vodi as a wealthy man with equally affluent associates. He expressed his desire to someday own a luxury car like the one the designer gifted himself and proudly called himself one of Seyi Vodi’s inner circle.
