Grammy-winning singer Tems has hit back at critics who continue to comment on her body, calling for an end to the unsolicited scrutiny she’s endured for over seven years.
In a post on X, Tems expressed frustration over constant remarks labelling her physique as “small,” “flat,” or “fat,” asserting firmly that her body is hers alone.
Tems pointed out the absurdity of public demands for her to “show her body,” cheekily daring critics to show theirs first.
She stressed that she has never hidden her figure but refuses to make her body a spectacle for validation.
“Whether I gain or lose weight, it’s natural,” she said, adding that others’ opinions about her appearance have no bearing on her self-worth.
Tems concluded her message with a clear call: stop focusing on her body and move on.
“Okay 7 years in. It’s time to pack it up. I never thought I’d need to say it but you are all weird. “It’s small, it’s flat, it’s fat.”
Nah show ME yours first?? See how that feels? It’s just a body I will add and lose weight. I never once hid my body, I just didn’t feel the need to prove or disprove anyone. The more you don’t like my body the better for me actually.
But it’s enough now. Move on from my bum”, she wrote.
