‘Respect others’ tradition’ - Cynthia Morgan advices Pete Edochie after his encounter with Ooni of Ife

Nigerian singer Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan who is now known as Madrina has given veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie some advise.

The veteran actor was counseled by Cynthia Morgan to learn to respect other people's traditions in the wake of the veteran's interaction with the Ooni of Ife, which some social media users viewed insulting.

Cynthia Morgan pointed out how highly regarded and respected the veteran is, which is why she thought he should return the favor by showing respect for others.

Taking to her Instagram story on Thursday, May 25, 2023, the singer cum rapper recounted her encounter with the veteran actor in 2016 where he forced her to give him “osiba” which is against her tradition as a Benin lady.

She wrote: “I like the fact that Pete Edochie’s tradition is being respected today and I hope he learns to respect other people’s traditions too moving forward. i.e. (that is) That Benin woman cannot give a common or a titled Ibo man an “Osiba” for no just reason. Unlike when he forced me to give him an Osiba in 2016 in Okrika precisely. Cheers”.
