'You want to be close to him so bad, but he doesn't want you' - Jojo of Lele slams King Mitchy

Nigeria’s influencer space has erupted again, this time with Jojo of Lele taking direct aim at philanthropist King Mitchy amid an escalating dispute involving activist VeryDarkMan.

The drama began after King Mitchy questioned VeryDarkMan’s widely publicized “integrity,” accusing him of holding onto hundreds of millions of naira donated to his NGO for nearly two years without fully delivering on promised school renovation projects.

In a series of Instagram story posts, she argued that while Nigerians contributed heavily to his Voice of the Voiceless foundation, tangible results, particularly in school upgrades, have not matched expectations.

She maintained that her comments were about accountability, not personal animosity, even offering to provide locations of schools in need.

Her remarks triggered a fiery response from Jojo of Lele, a vocal supporter of VDM and a figure closely associated with his online “Ratel” movement.

In Instagram posts that quickly made the rounds on entertainment blogs, Jojo accused Mitchy of jealousy and clout-chasing.

“You want to be close to him so bad, but he doesn’t want you,” Jojo reportedly wrote, suggesting that Mitchy’s criticism stemmed from personal rejection rather than genuine concern about NGO transparency.

Jojo went further, openly crediting VDM for transforming her life and boosting her public profile.

She has previously spoken about how meeting him changed her fortunes, from struggling emotionally and financially to securing brand deals, purchasing a car, traveling abroad, and gaining massive online engagement.

Her candid admission intensified debate over whether loyalty within Nigeria’s activism-influencer space is driven by shared causes or mutual benefit.

VDM also responded in video statements, describing Mitchy’s criticisms as persistent and unprovoked.

He referenced past tensions between them and alleged that her actions were politically motivated. According to him, the timing of her renewed criticism — and her reported ties to Seyi Tinubu, son of Bola Tinubu — suggests the feud may be more political than philanthropic.
