Award-winning Nollywood actress and film producer Jumoke Odetola has announced her official transition into Christian ministry, declaring that she has accepted a divine calling to become a preacher of the gospel.

Addressing growing public concern from family, friends, and industry colleagues over her recent social media activity and brief hiatus from film sets, Odetola clarified that she is in good health and embracing a major spiritual shift.

In a statement shared across her official social media platforms, the actress confirmed her new status while soliciting prayers from her followers.

"I am now a minister of God. I am entering a new season with God," Odetola declared. "Yes. Something is going on in my life, but nothing is wrong with me. I am entering a new season with God. I am now a preacher of the gospel."

The actress added that she chose to make the announcement publicly to prepare her fans for her new outreach activities.

"I have been contemplating if I should be private about it. But how can I be private about preaching the gospel when you could just see me on your street with my bell preaching," she wrote. "I need all the prayers in this season. When God compels you, you may delay, but you cannot escape the call."

Odetola joins a growing list of West African film personalities as Majid Michel, Tondo Dikeh, and Jimmy Odukoya who have publicly embraced full-time or active Christian ministry alongside or following their entertainment careers.
