Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has stirred fresh controversy after alleging that he has a video showing how late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, was murdered.
Fabiyi claimed in a new video shared on social media, where he also appealed directly to President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing case.
According to him, the alleged video was sent to him by unknown individuals who attempted to use it to extort him. He said:
“President Bola Tinubu, I wrote to you in May 2025 that Mohbad was murdered. Part of the video was sent to me in an apparent attempt to extort me. Your office gave a directive to the Inspector General of Police to investigate, harmonise, and prosecute.”
Fabiyi further asserted that investigators at the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja had reviewed the case file and identified key figures allegedly involved in a cover-up. He claimed that Mohbad’s wife later turned herself in to the authorities after the suspects were declared complicit.
He added:
“Now they want to cover it up. They are even asking the same suspects to write a petition against me over illegal arrests. Some police officers are trying to intimidate me because of the evidence I have. This suspect wants to silence me because they want to use the video against you. I am putting my life on the line.”
The actor’s new allegations triggered a wave of reactions online, with many Nigerians urging him to hand over the evidence to law enforcement rather than making public emotional appeals.
