Nigerian singer cum actress Mercy Isoyip better known by her stage name Descushiel, caused a stir when she wrongly recited the national anthem at a conference for senior police officers in Imo State.

The national anthem was sung by Mercy Isoyip, who was dressed in a police uniform, in front of all the dignitaries in attendance. She mispronounced the national anthem, which infuriated people because they didn't understand what she was saying.

After the video went viral, a lot of people made fun of her for not being able to recite the national anthem and expressed their disapproval of her being assigned to that role when real police officers could have been asked to do so.

Mercy Isoyip, however, didn't take long to apologize to the Nigerian Police Force and the people of Nigeria for the inconvenience her act had caused.

She expressed her sincere regret for what happened and stated her readiness to make amends.
