Popular Nigerian comedian and digital creator Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi, widely known as Isbae U (Bae U Barbie), has revealed the motivation behind his transition away from traditional comedy skits toward long-form content.

Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, the creator explained that he stepped back from short-form skit making because he felt his work had stagnated and he wanted to break away from industry stereotypes.

"The concept of Curiosity Made Me Ask came from me finding myself. I was tired of being average and wanted to do something different. I didn’t want to be like the skit makers," Isbae U shared.

He revealed that the creative inspiration for his hit satirical interview show, Curiosity Made Me Ask, was drawn from Between Two Ferns, the award-winning American chat show hosted by comedian Zach Galifianakis.

Since launching the show, Isbae U has interviewed high-profile African figures across politics, entertainment, and culture, including former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, Nollywood veteran Pete Edochie, and veteran broadcaster Frank Edoho.
