President Muhammadu Buhari has been spotted in a video on social media cracking a hard smile from veteran comedian, Okey Bakassi

Okey Bakassi had in the video pleaded with the president not to ban cow skin which is popularly known as kponmo since it would be unbearable for Nigerians to cope without it.

The comedian added that some people prefer kponmo with stew while others prefer it with sauce so banning it will be a big loss to them (Nigerians).

He further said sometimes the kponmo is accompanied by cold beer which together helps to manage and release stress.

President Buhari couldn't help but crack a smile at the joke.

Recall that months ago there was a proposal to ban the consumption of kponmo because it lacked nutritional value.

Muhammad Yakubu, head of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST), Zaria, Kaduna State had said “to the best of my knowledge, Nigerians are the only people in the world that overvalue skin as food, after all, Ponmo has no nutritional value.”

Yakubu added that cow skin consumption was contributing to the downward slide of production in Nigeria’s leather industry.
