Popular Nigerian activist Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has spoken out about U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent threat to send American soldiers to Nigeria.
Trump had warned that he might deploy troops if President Bola Tinubu’s government failed to stop the killings of Christians in the country.
In a video shared on Monday, November 3, VeryDarkMan reposted a clip of a Nigerian pastor crying out about the persecution of Christians and asking the U.S. for help.
According to VeryDarkMan, the pastor’s courage to speak up was one reason the international community** is now paying attention to Nigeria’s problems.
He went on to criticize well-known pastors like E.A. Adeboye, David Oyedepo, Tunde Bakare, and Paul Enenche, saying they have not done enough to pressure the government to act on insecurity.
VeryDarkMan also accused some religious leaders of doing too much praying and too little action, saying they should use their influence to demand real change.
“Pastor Adeboye, Bishop Oyedepo, and Tunde Bakare have enough power to push President Tinubu to stop the killings, but they keep quiet because he’s their brother. When Goodluck Jonathan was president, Pastor Adeboye protested,” he said.
