'Ur papa' - Davido reacts to producer Napji’s accusation of unpaid royalties

Award-winning singer Davido has spoken out following accusations from music producer Kehinde Emmanuel better known as Napji that he was not paying him royalties for his work.

The afrobeats singer came under fire from Napji, who claimed that despite co-writing three tracks for the singer's 2020 album "A Better Time," he had not yet received royalties for them.

Napji claimed to be the creative force behind three of Davido's top hits. He revealed that he created the songs "Jowo," "Fem," and "Sunlight" in an X post.

Napji threatened to reveal further information in an attempt to get his royalties.

He wrote: "I am Napji, producer behind Fem, Jowo and sunlight on
@davido album (A better time) Which was released 13th November 2020.
I was paid an advance of 500 thousand naira for each of the songs. I will be releasing more information as I seek to collect my royalties & publishing"

Davido reacted on his X account by criticizing the record producer.

Quoting Napji’s tweet, he wrote: “Ur papa.”
