Popular Nigerian media personality Tosin Silverdam criticized celebrity fashion designer Veekee James for advising single women.
In a video reviewing James' advice, Silverdam argued that James lacked the necessary experience to offer marriage advice since she had recently gotten married.
Silverdam emphasized that individuals should only give marriage advice after being married for at least 10 years. He pointed out that even a decade of marriage does not guarantee success.
He said, "It's not even up to a year she got married and she has started advising people about marriage. What does she know about marriage? You only start advising people about marriage when you spend 10 years in it. Even 10 years does not guarantee anything.
Silverdam's comments were prompted by Veekee James' Instagram post where she discussed reasons why some women are single and offered tips to help them find a partner. James suggested that women should be open to different types of men, rather than having strict criteria for a potential partner.
She said, “This could be you and somebody’s son, but you like your men tall and handsome with perfect set of teeth, 100% financial responsibility, impeccable dress sense, very spiritual, yet with a touch of bad boyness.”
Tosin Silverdam's criticism of James' advice highlights the importance of having substantial experience before offering guidance on marriage.
