Tiwa Savage battles virus, postpones all shows

Popular Afrobeat sensation Tiwa Savage has let her devoted followers know that she will be taking a short break from performing.

She contracted an illness that necessitated her to undergo a lengthy, rigid vocal rest period that lasted many months, which is why she is taking this vacation.

Tiwa Savage's heartfelt message, sent on social media and addressed to her loyal fan following known as the "Savage Soldiers," reveals her disappointment at not being able to perform her electrifying live shows.

The songstress clearly struggled with this choice because singing is not only her profession, it's also her passion.

She has stated, however, that this hiatus is necessary to guarantee her full recuperation and to maintain the flawless quality of her voice for next initiatives.

She wrote: “To my dear Savage Soldiers, I’ve been fig@ting off a virus for the past few weeks and was today firmly instructed to be on strict vocal rest for the next rew months.

"I will unfortunately have to postpone all performances including my first ever headline arena show in London.

"I’m heartbroken and devastated but I have to do this to save what’s left of my voice. I’m so sorry. I love you all and promise to be back performing once I’m fully healed”

"These trying times follow a series of incidents that have placed Tiwa Savage in the spotlight for reasons other than her music.
